Free Printable Alphabet Tree Center

August 5, 2018

Grab our Free Printable Alphabet Tree Center, perfect to use alongise the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. A fun hands-on alphabet activity!

I LOVE using the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom when teaching letters. I couldn’t resist wanting to turn it into a fun literacy center, so I’m sharing a free printable alphabet tree center today.

It’s a fun way that the kids will be able to correlate the story with the letter activity they are working on.

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

To make the center, you’ll want to download and print the free printable below. Cut out your tree and laminate it so it can be used over and over again.  You’ll need some letters to add to your tree next. We used foam letters here, but magnetic letters would be a great option as well.

Have the student place the letters on the tree. To play, they’ll choose one of the letters and then look at the free printable and find the matching letter. They can then practice writing the letter. I’ve included both a tracing option as well as a blank option if you just want them to fill in the letter as they choose them to practice writing in on their own.

Using activities that go along with books always makes them more fun and relatable for the students.

Today's read-aloud is Apple Pie 4th Of July. In this book, a young girl is embarrassed by her parents cooking Chinese food at their convenience store on Independence Day, She is then surprised when they get numerous customers coming in to get Chinese food. It’s a great message about what it is to be American and embracing your family’s heritage and customs.🇺🇸Come and see the snack idea and grab the printable to go along with the book here primaryplayground.net/literacy-snack-4th-of-july-read-aloud/ ...
