Underpants is a magical word in Kindergarten. Why not go with it and read some fun underpants stories! For this week’s literacy snack idea, we’re reading Aliens Love Dinopants, by Claire Freedman. Any of her alien underpants books would work great with the snack and free printable that I’m sharing.

Underwear! The most powerful word in kindergarten.

In Aliens Love Dinopants, aliens crash-land in the jungle and they have no idea that they are about to stumble into the biggest stash of underwear ever. Their happiness knows no bounds since all aliens share a love for zany underpants!

For our snack this week, we’re making aliens to go along with the story!

Snack Idea

Ingredients

Each students will need

1 slice of bread

3 pretzel sticks

3 half grapes

1 candy eye

1 small piece of pull and peel licorice

1 circle cookie cutter for the students to share

Assemble

The students will take turns using the cookie cutter to cut a circle out of the bread for the aliens head. Next they will place the three pretzel sticks coming out of the top of the aliens head. Top each of the pretzel sticks with a half grape. Place the eye and the mouth on the bread. You can also just give them the pieces and let them have free reign of how they’d like to put their aliens together too.

Free Printable

While the students are enjoying their alien snack, I’ve made a free printable to go along with the book. The students get to draw some of the underpants from the story. Remember underpants is a magical word for these kiddos. What could be better than drawing them too?!

Free printable for Aliens Love Dinopants

This would be a fun one to save for the last few days of the school year too! Anything to make those last few days extra fun!

You can download the free printable by clicking the green box below from my TeachersPayTeachers store.
