I’m always looking for new ways to incorporate math into something fun. Today we’re are working on our number bonds to ten with this fun kite craft perfect for spring.
This math craftivity is a fun way to conclude your unit on ways to make ten and the kites look adorable hanging up around the classroom for spring.
THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH
Each student needs
the free kite printable you can download for free at the bottom of the post
a long piece of yarn
To make the number bonds to ten kite craft, the students will first write in all the different ways to make ten on the bows on the free printable. They can then color the bows if they choose to and color the kite as well. Next, they will cut out all of the bows and the kite.
Last, they will tape the yarn to the back of the kite as a tail. Then tape each of the bows to the yarn all the way down. Cut off any remaining yarn.
We even took them outside to let them blow in the wind since it was a windy day. so much fun in this little project!
Don’t they come out adorable? Perfect to display in the classroom or hall for spring.
