Teacher appreciation day is quickly approaching and I was looking for a new idea to give my own kids’ teachers this year. Today, I’m sharing these Teacher Appreciation Day Cookie Tags as a fun, easy, and inexpensive gift idea.

Our family has enjoyed a new cookie shop that has opened near our home a few times over the last month called Crumbl. I thought these cookies would make a perfect little gift to bring to their teachers, because who doesn’t like a great cookie?!

Teacher Appreciation Day Cookie Tags

I made two different types of tags. For the first one, the supplies you’ll need are as follows

• Download and print the printable tag
• glue stick
• scissors
• cookie box to attach the tag to

You’ll just simply download and print the cookie tag. Cut them out and use a glue stick to glue them onto the cookie box. If you don’t have a cookie shop like this with boxes, you could always buy a container of cookies from the grocery store bakery and glue the tag onto that. Any cookies are always welcome!

Option number two.

The second option is for a gift card. You’ll simply download the printable tag and use some tape to keep the gift card attached. You could always cut a couple of little slits in the paper if you’re printing on cardstock to set the gift card in as well. The gift card could be for a cookie place but definitely does not have to be. How about their favorite coffee shop? Target, amazon?

Teacher appreciation day is right around the corner so I’m sharing with you a quick and easy, nacho average appreciation gift idea they will LOVE!

There are two different printables to choose from. The first one is a printable tag to print out. Simply attach it to a bag of tortilla chips and add a jar of salsa and you’re all set!

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

Or take it a bit further and make it into a gift basket as we did below for our principal during principal appreciation week.

We used tortilla chips, a jar of salsa, some nacho cheese sauce, a little cactus I found at World Market Place, and a gift card to a Mexican restaurant for lunch.

The second option is to use it as a gift card holder and attach a gift card to their favorite Mexican food restaurant.

Over time I’ve gotten several different requests to add more staff options. Now you can choose to use these for teachers, principals, staff, bus drivers, room moms, school board members, administrators, secretaries, nurses, and paraprofessionals. Do you have a paraprofessional who works in your classroom with a student or two? As you know, these people have a very important job and can be a tremendous help to us in our classroom.

Did you know that Wednesday, April 3rd is Paraprofessional Day? I wanted to make sure our wonderful paras are recognized for all of their hard work so I came up with a simple, inexpensive gift idea to give each one of them.

Supplies

Candy of your choice – I stacked 4 candy bars on top of each other

curling ribbon

scissors

Assemble

To make these quick and easy gifts, I simply stacked the 4 candy bars on top of each other, I chose a Recess’s Cup for the bottom to use as a nice base. Download, print and cut out the free printable paraprofessional gift idea tags. Punch a hold in one corner. Use ribbon to wrap the candies together and tie. Slide one end of the ribbon through your hole you punched on the tag and tie again.  Then curl the ribbon

Such a simple gift idea, but it is sure to put a smile on their face to show you thought about them and appreciate all of the hard work they do each day!

A couple of years ago, my daughter’s teacher was retiring. I knew I wanted to send her off with something fantastic! I thought what could be better than having all her students make something for her. So, here is my teacher retirement gift idea!

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

I created a Happy Retirement book for the kids to each write about what they think their teacher should do when they retire. I bound it in our workroom, but it can also be done at Staples if the school doesn’t have one.

The students had some very creative and overall completely sweet ideas of what she should do when she retired.

We also collected money from anyone that wanted to donate towards her gift. We chose to get her a bunch of different gift cards now that she has time to enjoy them! I taped the gift cards to wooden skewers and placed them into some flowers I picked up from the grocery store. We ended up getting two since we had so many gift cards. She absolutely loved the book and got such a kick out of some of her student’s answers. Something that will be treasured always!

If you have a male teacher that is retiring, a plant is a great alternative to the flowers. My son had a male teacher last year, and this was the end-of-the-year gift we gave him. He mentioned to my son that the plant had doubled in size over the summer!

This would make a fantastic and memorable retirement gift for not just teachers, but aides, principals, custodians, secretaries, nurses, or librarians. A lot of different options!

We all know how hard teachers work, so why not give them an extra special little treat during teacher appreciation week. I’m sharing a teacher appreciation day treat that I “snuck” into our teacher’s lounge last year.

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

This is a super quick and easy way to say thank you to all of our teachers and co-workers. I thought ice cream would be a perfect treat since we’re in the 100s here in Arizona by the first week in May.

I went to the grocery store and purchased five boxes of Blue Bunny ice cream cones and sandwiches. (They were on sale 5 boxes for $10, yay!) I put them into our freezers (we’re lucky to have two refrigerators in our lounge) I made up this cute sign to let everyone know where to find their special treats and placed it on the table.

Everyone truly appreciated it and I was still hearing about it over the next couple of weeks. Something small like this can go a long way!

With teacher appreciation day quickly approaching, I wanted to share a couple of fun fingerprint teacher appreciation gift ideas with you that I helped make for my own kids’ teachers last year.

THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

My daughter’s class did a huge unit on butterflies. They got to watch the life cycle and even took a field trip to the Butterfly Wonderland. Since this was such a memorable part of the year for the class, I decided to base the class teacher appreciation gift around butterflies. The project is great since it doesn’t cost very much and is quick to do with the students.

Supplies needed

Ink pads – I had three colors I let the students choose from for the butterflies – I got mine at Hobby Lobby

Assemble

This project is a quick one and should take about 30 minutes at the most to get through all of the students in the class. I like to set up a little area just outside the classroom door or if you have a nearby empty room or library close by that would work too.

I bring three students out at a time and let them put their fingerprints down four times as the butterfly wings. I then use a fine tip Sharpie to write their name under their butterfly. I send the student back in to tap another on the shoulder to send them out so we don’t disrupt the classroom.

After all, the students have made their butterflies and they are dry. I went back and filled in the butterfly body and antennae using the fine tip Sharpie. Pop it in a frame and you are ready to gift it!

To keep with our butterfly theme for the teacher, we also decorated her door for teacher appreciation week. While I had the students outside doing their fingerprints, I also printed some butterflies for them to color quickly. I took them home and cut them out and we decorated the door with them. Her teacher absolutely LOVED it!

Bee

My son had a male teacher last year, so I didn’t think butterflies were the best fit for him. Instead, we went with bees. He was always encouraging the students and telling them that he believes in them so this worked out just perfect. You’ll need the same supplies as above, but only a yellow ink pad. Follow the same steps, adding wings, lines, antennae, and an eye to each one after their dry.

Some of the ideas cost nothing at all and just use some supplies you already have lying around, and some fun things you may want to purchase for your student teacher that will help them start their teaching journey. You can ask for the student’s families, other teachers as well as admin to help pitch in for a bigger gift too!

20 Student Teacher Gift Ideas

1. A picture frame with the students’ fingerprints around it with a picture of the class inside. Grab a $1.00 wooden frame from Michael’s and help the students put their thumbprints on the frame using paint. Write each child’s name under the thumbprint.  Add a picture of your class.
2. Gift cards!  Grab a gift card to a place where you frequently shop for items for your classroom. A TPT gift card, Target, Lakeshore, Barnes & Noble, a local teaching store, Dollar Tree, Amazon, or Scholastic. I know I’d love to receive a gift card to any of these places!
3. Have the students bring in a new or gently used picture book. Help him or her build their classroom library! You could have the students write their names or a note to the student teacher on the inside of the book as well.
4. Make a sign for their door. I did this for my own daughter’s teacher this year at the beginning of the school year. She moved grades and rooms and so I thought it would be fun for her to have a new sign for her door. She loves it. I used an apple sign from the Target Dollar Spot during back-to-school time. It doesn’t have to be an apple though, the Dollar Spot usually has some kind of board that would work at all times of the year. I just used a paint pen on mine to write her name, but if you have the means to use vinyl using a Cricut that would be great too!
5. Have the students make them a book. They can write about why they think they’ll be a super teacher. Nothing is better than getting notes straight from the hearts of the students! I love how @caffeineteach used the book for her student teacher by adding photos of her students as well!

6. Make a personalized clipboard. You can have the students use fingerprints to make a flower, bees, or butterflies, or you can buy a customized one from Etsy. They have some amazing ones on there!

7. Give them a teacher’s cart. A fantastic and useful way to get them started in their first classroom.

8.  Give them a teacher bag.  Have the students make paint handprints on a canvas bag or buy your favorite teacher’s bag to use. A durable backpack or a Thirty-One bag would both be great as well.

9. Put together the ultimate teaching kit. Put together a basket, tote or crate with all kinds of things that they’ll need when they have a classroom of their own. Ideas of items you may want to include are:

10. Buy a book and have the students sign it. Some great options would be, Oh The Places You’ll Go or The Giving Tree. Each time they see this book later on or read it to their own class, they will think of their time with you!

11. A teacher chair! Everyone needs a teaching chair. This might be a rocking chair, a stool, or a director’s chair. Whatever fits your student teacher the best.

12. Give your favorite professional development book. Some favorites are ACE Your Teacher Interview, Teach Like A Pirate, The First Six Weeks Of School , and Reading Strategies.

13. Give them a cute lunch tote. Most of my co-workers bring their lunches, so wouldn’t it be fun to have a nice new lunch bag? Target has some great ones or you could even get one from Thirty-One monogrammed. Have the students each write a small note on a piece of paper and fill up the lunch tote with them. So special and they’ll think of your class every time they use it. We share some of our all-time favorite lunch tote’s here that you can check out.  Or you might also give them a mini crockpot to go along with the lunch tote. You can check that out here. 

14. Write a letter of recommendation. Give them the gift of being one step ahead of the other candidates when interviewing for a teaching position.

15. Gift them your Scholastic points. Have them choose a whole bunch of new books to start their classroom and let them use your Scholastic points to pay for it.

16. Get them a personalized stamp. You could choose some fun pre-made teaching/grading ones, or get one personalized with their name on it. Or if they have a fun saying they like, have a stamp made with the saying on it. A stamp to stamp the inside of their class library books would be helpful as well.

17. An HP Instant Ink ready printer. Give them the gift of a printer so they can be ready to start printing all of that fun stuff they’ve purchased off of TPT. I personally have the HP OfficeJet Pro6978 at home and can’t say enough good things about the printer and instant ink program. I never run out of ink, they just mail me more each time I change a cartridge! They can use this code to sign up and they’ll receive a month for free!

18. 16 mini drawer organizer filled with supplies.  The perfect way to keep everything together and organized so you know where it is when you need it.

19. Make a handprint umbrella. A useful and oh-so-cute gift from the students. They will think of your class each time they use it standing out in the rain while on bus duty!

20. A fun lanyard. This lanyard is a charm holder that comes with 11 pieces of school charms. So adorable!

These come together very quickly. Just put the chocolates in the bag and tie it up with some twine. Print, cut and hole punch the four leaf clover and attach it with the twine to the bag.

I saw these cute berry baskets at Michael’s the other day and LOVE that they come in so many different colors now! My daughter and I have been kind of obsessed with our gold Sharpie, so I thought this was a perfect spot to use it for Valentine’s Day!

First off, decide what you want to put in your basket. We chose to make heart sugar cookies. Don’t feel like you have to make them though if you are  short on time. Grab a container of frosted pink cookies from the Target instead!

Supplies needed:

Berry baskets found at Michael’s

Dollies (found mine at Dollar Tree)

Piece of gold glitter paper (or pattern of your choice to make a heart tag)

Gold Sharpie

Baker’s twine

Scissors

Hole punch

Cookies to put in the basket

Cellophane wrap roll

First, you’ll want to use your Sharpie to draw a bunch of little hearts on your basket. There’s no right or wrong way to do it!

Next, take 2 dollies and gently shape them into the bottom of the basket leaving a little bit sticking up over the top of each side. Fill up your basket with your choice of goodies.

Take the cellophane wrap and measure it so it’s about 12 inches tall on each side of the basket. Use your baker’s twine to tie it closed. We then cut a heart out of the gold glitter paper and she wrote a little note of the back. Punch a hole in the heart and attach it to one end of the twine.

I know I’d be happy to receive a cute little basket of cookies! Happy Gift Giving!

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for Fall! These Free Printable Happy Fall Tags will put a smile on anyone’s face.

Every month I try to give my teammates a little something as a pick me up, morale booster. Everyone likes to feel appreciated so this is my little contribution to let them know they are amazing!

Our school also lost our amazing gifted teacher who passed away, that’s been at our school for over 20 years, last week, so I felt this was an extra important time to make a treat. As you can imagine, it’s been a rough time in school for teachers, students, and parents alike.

Baking makes me happy, so I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I found the cute jars in the Fall section of the Target dollar spot, printed the tag, and attached it with some twine. Super simple but greatly appreciated sitting on their desk on Monday morning.
