I’m always looking for new and fun ideas to incorporate into our math. When I saw these giant inflatable dice in the Target Dollar Spot, I just knew they would be perfect to turn into dice addition.

These fun inflatable dice come in a pack of 5, so you can set up 2 groups of students to work with each other at a time. If you can’t find these inflatable dice, you can use any type you have, regular size, or I’ve even seen larger hard foam ones at Dollar Tree.
THIS ACTIVITY WORKS WELL WITH

To Play Dice Addition
To play dice addition, pair 2 students together. They will take turns rolling the dice and recording the numbers on their dice addition recording sheet I’ve made for you. Have the student roll one die. The other student will record that number. Have the student roll the second die and the other student will again record the number that was rolled. They can work together to solve the math problem.

You could have the students work on this as an individual activity or center and use regular size dice too.
You can download the free dice addition recording sheet below.

I love using whatever I can find to turn things into math games to help make the learning process fun and engaging for the students.
Do you have any other fun ways to use dice in the classroom?
