Literacy Snack Hibernate Read-Aloud

January 31, 2018

Grab the FREE printable and see the snack idea to use with Bear Snores On. It's a fun Literacy Snack Hibernate Read-Aloud for winter!

for your shopping convenience, there are amazon affiliate links provided in this blog post.

This week we’ve been working on our hibernation unit so I have a Literacy Snack Hibernate Read-Aloud to share with you. One of my favorite books to read during this unit is  Bear Snores On, by Karma Wilson. Bear books are always a favorite with the kids and it ties in nicely.

“One by one, a whole host of different animals and birds find their way out of the cold and into Bear’s cave to warm up. But even after the tea has been brewed and the corn has been popped, Bear just snores on!
See what happens when he finally wakes up and finds his cave full of uninvited guests — all of them having a party without him!”

For this week’s snack, the students are making their own caves with Bear inside!

After the students have made their cave, I created a printable for them to work on sequencing from the book. They will number the boxes in the order they happened in the story and then color the pictures.

Today's read-aloud is The Grouchy Ladybug. This is a story of a bad-tempered bug who won’t say “please” or “thank you,” won’t share, and thinks she is bigger and better than anyone else. This book will help your little learners learn that maybe being grouchy isn’t always the best option.Come and see the fun snack idea and grab the printable to go along with the book here primaryplayground.net/literacy-snack-idea-ladybug-free-printable/ ...
