Free Printable Color By Code CVC Words

March 3, 2019

Free Printable Color By Code CVC Words.

What are your favorite ways to reinforce CVC words that the students have learned? My kids have been loving these color by code CVC word pages!

This color by code CVC word is an activity that can be used in a variety of ways. Color by code CVC words works well for morning work, early finishers,  literacy centers or as homework. It’s a great way to reinforce the CVC words they’ve learned at school and for them to practice them at home again easily.

The first time the students do this activity, I always encourage them to color the crayons first so they can easily see which color the CVC word needs to be.

To do the color by code CVC words, the students will carefully color the picture one area at a time using the matching color for the CVC words. This one is a bit more challenging than the color by code sight words, as they will look at the picture next to the crayon and have to color in the area of the word that matches. The students will continue coloring the CVC words until the entire picture has been completed. They will then be able to see their hidden picture!
