Free Printable Pumpkin Pie Taste Test

Free Printable Pumpkin Pie Taste Test

for your shopping convenience, there are amazon affiliate links provided in this blog post.

As our Thanksgiving break approaches the kids start to get antsy as we all know. This is a fun activity I like to save for our last day before break. It’s one of my most favorite activities because I LOVE pumpkin pie myself. I may or may not have already bought and eaten (with the families help) at least 3 pies this season.

I have a favorite book that I like to read to start us off. We read I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie, by Alison Jackson.

“I know an old lady who swallowed a pie, a Thanksgiving pie, which was really too dry.

And with that, the feast begins! After the pie, the old lady swallows a whole squash, all of the salad, and the entire turkey! As Mother and Father watch in shock, the two children are delighted to see the old lady growing fatter and fatter. And, in the end, the old lady makes a surprising and humorous contribution to the holiday festivities.”

For the pumpkin pie tasting, I buy one of the big pies from Costco. It’s perfect for the entire class to have a taste. We start off by describing the pie.

Then we move onto the best part, the taste test! Have the students all try a bite of their pie and decide if they like it or not. Then they will ask their classmates if they like it or not and fill out their graph accordingly. It’s such a fun way to incorporate writing and math into the holiday.

Hopefully, this helps keep your kids engaged during those final few days or hours before Thanksgiving break!

I bet you have some beary good readers in your class! These would be great to give out as a celebration for reaching a certain ready level during a teddy bear reading picnic in the classroom or even at the end of the school year along with a book as an easy end of the year gift.primaryplayground.net/beary-good-reader-treat-bag-topper/ ...
