Literacy Snack Idea Colors

June 26, 2019

Grab the FREE printable and see the snack idea to use with Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. It's a great Literacy Snack Idea Colors Read-Aloud!

This week we’re talking colors! There are so many fun ways and books to use to teach about colors. For this week’s Literacy Snack Idea Colors, we will be using Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes by James Dean.

this article (and most) on primary playground, does contain affiliate links that we do earn a commission off of.  clicking these links does not cost you any extra but helps our website to keep great articles and freebies like this coming your way.

“Pete the Cat goes walking down the street wearing his brand-new white shoes. Along the way, his shoes change from white to red to blue to brown to WET as he steps in piles of strawberries, blueberries, and other big messes!”

For our snack today, we will be having an array of things that Pete stepped in, strawberries, blueberries, and mud! (Well, we’re having chocolate pudding as our mud!)

Today's literacy snack read-aloud is Hey, Little Ant. What would you do if the ant you were about to step on looked up and started talking? Would you stop and listen? What if your friends saw you hesitate? That’s what happens in this funny, thought-provoking book. Originally a song by a father-daughter team, this conversation between two creatures, large and small, is bound to inspire important discussions. It might even answer that classic childhood question: To squish or not to squish?Come and see the snack idea and grab the printable to go along with the book here primaryplayground.net/literacy-snack-idea-ants-free-printable/ ...
